Airport and ports remain closed and pandemic containment obligations continue
In the course of the next few weeks, the effects of the deflation measures in the Region will be assessed. The Regional Government keeps ports and airports closed, as Miguel Albuquerque informed at the press conference that takes place at Quinta Vigia.
The prohibitions on gatherings, visits to homes and all contingency rules are maintained.
Miguel Albuquerque was asked about the opening of the airport, which will be done with great care and always dependent on standards of control and hygiene. The GR president recalls that “the issuing markets will decide what will happen”. However, he advocates that checks be carried out at the places of departure.
“We will do everything possible for the reopening of air traffic to be done with the safety of our population,” he says. Albuquerque considers it important to welcome tourists, but they cannot be “a source of infection”.
Albuquerque was also asked about the legality of measuring employees’ temperature, which he considered a minor issue and a discussion of the “sex of angels”, since what is at stake + and public health.
Another week or two, the Public Service should also return to face-to-face work.
